What is a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA)?

A PPA is an agreement between two parties for the supply of electricity over an agreed term. Verde has made PPAs accessible to everyone, allowing you to lock in a set energy rate, save on energy costs, gain energy independence, and prevent CO2 emissions. It also demonstrates your green credentials to staff and customers.

Why would I do a PPA rather than just buy the system?

A PPA guarantees immediate energy savings with no upfront cost. Verde installs, insures, and manages the system to deliver maximum green energy. Your cash is better invested in expanding your enterprise while we handle reducing your energy costs.

Is it guaranteed that the PPA rate will always be cheaper than my electricity supplier?

A Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) secures energy rates that are typically lower than market prices, providing you with significant savings. As energy rates rise with inflation over time, your PPA ensures stable, predictable costs, allowing you to benefit from consistently lower energy expenses throughout the term of the agreement.

Can I terminate the contract early?

Yes, we offer a buyback option. You can buy back the system from us at a predetermined price at the end of any year during the contract term.

How long will the solar panels last?

Solar panels usually last between 30-35 years. Verde ensures maximum efficiency and takes care of all maintenance and upgrades necessary for long-term performance.

What happens at the end of the PPA?

After the contract expires, the system is gifted to the client. An additional Operations & Maintenance (O&M) package can be established for continued management and operations.

Does my business need planning permission for rooftop solar panels?

No planning permission is required for rooftop solar panels since the permit was dropped in 2022. However, planning permission is needed for ground-mounted systems, and we will assist you throughout the process.
